Energy & Resources
Doyle's Guide's coverage of the area of Energy & Resources law details leading firms and lawyers on both a national and state by state basis.
Our Energy & Resources section covers sectors including Electricity, Oil & Gas, Renewable Power, and Natural Resources.
In relation to Energy the dynamics of the Australian market see emphasis placed upon both upstream and downstream coal, oil and gas and most recently coal seam gas and, where possible we seek to highlight those firms and lawyers with expertise across the operational aspects of energy and resources and avoid a focus on the M&A and financing aspects of the sector. We do however include competition concerns in relation to regulation, access and pricing.
The Resources commentary concentrates on mining and minerals exploration as well as the various elements of distribution of these resources. Again, where possible we seek to highlight firms and lawyers excelling in the provision of legal advice assisting the operational aspects of the industry.

Methodology
The key differentiating aspect of Doyle’s Guide’s research is that we do not court or require the participation of firms in our research.
We do not request or accept any form of paid profiling or advertising from law firms, barristers chambers or individual legal professionals. We view this editorial independence as our point of difference from other legal directories.
Doyle’s Guide’s research is principally conducted by way of telephone client and peer interviews. Interviews are typically impromptu and the duration of each interview is determined by the interviewee. All comments during interview are made on a non-attributable basis.
In conducting research for the 2010 Energy & Resources section we canvassed both clients and peers. On the client side our principal sources of client referees were various levels of in-house counsel within Australian energy and resources entities. |
