In-house

Our listings of Australia's leading in-house lawyers cover a broad range of practice areas and are compiled by way of feedback from service providers across our 20 areas of practice.

Practitoiners in private practice are asked to nominate lawyers within either their particular area of practice or on a broader scale who, in thier direct experience has displayed attributes or abilities that set them apart from their in-house peers.

In assessing the abilities of in-house lawyers practitioners are asked to look towards:

  • Technical ability and understanding of the legal aspects of the area and transaction;

Commercial acumen and the ability to work with and maximise the use of and avlue provided by external legal providers;

An understanding of when to use external legal service providers and the ability to choose appropriate counsel when they do so; and

The ability to interact with a range of external providers and gain the trust and confidence of key decision makers within their organisation.

Unfortunately the research component of this section is not yet completed. We expect the research and the resulting lists of leading firms and lawyers to be finalised in late 2011.

If you would like to receive a copy of these listings at that time please email us and we'll send you a copy.
